Charles Sobhraj: Inside the Heart of the Bikini Killer provides glimpses of Charles Sobhraj – the notorious serial killer. It is presented without the glitz and trappings lent to his image by media reports. Here, we do not find the cold, calculated ‘Bikini Killer,’ but we find here, a balding man who is worried about his failing health. He requests the doctor to put off his surgery for a few days because he is afraid. He is presented as a frail man who bursts into tears when he learns the operation has only a little chance of success. This book explores the ethical dilemmas of humans and the choices we have to make to remain true to ourselves. This book is candidly narrated by Raamesh Koirala who had in fact initially refused to treat a criminal like Charles but in the end he has given a rather humane presentation about the person.
