Entomology is the study of insects. This book is about the need to find solutions to the problems that insects cause to plants and crops. In recent years, biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology have become essential to the understanding of these problems. Using the molecular biology approach, one can now transfer and evaluate genetic characteristics from many insects.
