Dr. Inchley is a retired doctor from the UK, who has lived in Nepal for many years. This gave her a great love for the country and its people; and fostered an interest in its cultural heritage--espicially traditional proverbs.
Initially, she worked as a doctor and partly for her medical work in Nepal, she was awarded the OBE in 1995.
Later, she wrote her MA thesis on the use of traditional proverbs in religious (Christian) communication. She also studies the Nepali language and spent more than 5 years researching traditional Nepali proverbs. This book, which is the outcome of that research, is the first publication in English to analyse and classify Nepali provebs and compare them with English proverbs.
